Module Leadership - presentation video

Our Advisory Board member Tim Groenwals was closely involved in the creation of this module. He’ll present the content of the Leadership aspect of the training track.

This training is taught in English.

About this course

Effective security management goes beyond technology; it is about influence. Can you explain the why of security investments to the Board? Can you build a high-performing team in a competitive market?

This masterclass focuses on the “soft skills” that make management reporting successful. We guide you through stakeholder management and persuasive communication. You will learn the “Do’s and Don’ts” of board presentations, how to use storytelling, and strategies to attract and retain scarce security talent.

We’ll guide you through the process of identifying your stakeholders but also give you some practical tips in communicating your (cyber)security strategy and budget needs.

Some of the critical questions we cover include issues like:

  • Who are your stakeholders?
  • How can you communicate effectively with your Board and senior management?
  • How to attract, train and keep your security staff?

Why take this course?

By the end of this course, you’ll have a firm grasp on:

  • The position of security roles in the organization
  • How to demonstrate your value e.g. as CISO to your stakeholders
  • How to influence your organization
  • Measure what matters, and tell a story
  • Do’s and Don’ts of presenting cyber to your Board
  • Attract, train, and retain information security talent

Target group

This module targets to-be, new as well as experienced cybersecurity officers, managers and other security professionals tasked with crafting a companywide information security upgrade strategy. Those working in risk management and/or conducting security-related audits could also benefit from this course.
