Session 1

The first session of the evening will be hosted by Nathalie Smuha. Together with Nathalie, we will explore the impact of new technology and AI on the rights and freedoms for the data subject. In this way, we want to give you as caféganger-DPO an idea of what risks should be taken into account during, for example, a DPIA. We also link the findings to the work of the EU’s High Level expert group on AI (DG Connect), including on the Ethics Guidelines for Trustworthy AI, of which she was coordinator.

Session 2

During the second session we translate the findings of session 1 into some real-life examples. For this we invite some companies that are developing new technologies and their associated business concepts themselves. How do they look at the risks of their own technology and how can you as DPO take this into account? We invite Bart van Buitenen (DPO Sentiance), Guy De Pauw (CEO Textgain) and Lorelien Hoet (Government Affairs Director Microsoft).

The concept

Throughout the year, DPI invites guests to talk about his or her job as a Data Protection Officer. We discuss best practices and obstacles in developing a privacy policy, the impact of the European regulation on his/her organization or just a critical look at current events. During and after the presentation a pleasant reception will follow. The excellent opportunity to network among colleagues.

Target group

The Privacy Café aims to create a meeting place for professionals working on GDPR. It is the ideal opportunity to ask questions, gather information and gain knowledge. Of course, everyone is very welcome at this event.

Attention! Number of participants limited to 120!
